9 Lessons & Carols #3 – The good shepherd

Section from the book of Gove, King James Version:

John chp 10 v 1-16

1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the [staffroom], but climbeth up some other way, the same is a [thief and a robber and probably in year 10].

2 But [he or she]* that entereth in by the door is the [teacher of the children/sheep].

3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and [leadeth them out as they wet themselves in anticipation of the sergeant major bollocking about to be meted out].

4 And when he putteth forth his own [sheep/children], he goeth before them, and the [sheep/children] follow him: for they [shrink in fear as they] know [his or her] voice [runs chill before verbal brutality and sarcasm issue forth].

5 And a [supply teacher] will they not follow, but will [play up and misbehave mercilessly for him or her] : for they know not the voice of strangers [and know the school has no interest in backing them up with sanctions meted out by the real teacher].

6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them [largely because they were content with serving their time at University rather than reading for their degree showing how little the actually value the concept of learning].

7 Then said Jesus unto them again [as a plenary], Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. [though what he lacked in pace, he made up for in rigour]

8-10 – [The GOVE did repeat himself to consolidate their understanding]

11 I am the Gove [shepherd/headteacher]: the good [shepherd/headteacher] [giveth his or her] life [taking account of work life balance and knowing that hours served does not make for improvement and progress] for the sheep.

12 But he that is an hireling [jobsworth], and not the shepherd, whose own the [sheep/children] are not, [seeth the wolf/OfSTED Inspector] coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, [hiding behind tables and charts and meaningless performance management targets that look shiny but have not materially improved the school]: and the [wolf/OfSTED Inspector] catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep [by closing the school and bestowing academy status upon the wreckage].

13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep [but rather for his own terms and conditions and big fat pension].

14 I am the Gove shepherd, and know my [sheep/children], and am known of mine.

15 As the Gove knoweth me, even so know I the Gove: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd [every school shall answer to the Secretary of State with no Local Authorities to water down and derail the plans ordained from on high.]

So, you see, forced acadamisation is biblical.  Gove is on a mission from God.  To fight it is futile, nay heresy.
